Financial Aid & Scholarships:
Vita High School is committed to accessibility for all learners. We offer need-based tuition assistance and merit scholarships.
Vita is intended to be free to all learners, no matter their background. We believe that every child deserves access to a quality learner-driven education, no matter what. Kids first. Money, ego, everything else, second.
Thus, when we started, Vita was effectively free. We made money through our charter partnership, funded by the government, and through ESA tuition for our private school students, which limited our tuition to about $7,000 (for context on how low Arizona's per pupil funding is, Washington DC's per pupil funding is about $25,000).
$7,000 per student makes it tough to be sustainable (there are many financial storms that happen in business), to provide the best educational services with technology (technology is important and expensive), and to attract the right talent to work with the kids.
For these reasons, Vita's tuition has increased to $20,000, while still making this effectively free for learners. $20,000 will allow Vita to be more than sustainable - to grow, to have the best technology and thus an even better educational experience, and the best staff working with our learners.
STO funding allows families and businesses to redirect their state income taxes to a private school of their choosing. STO allows Vita to work with families and businesses to build a large pool of funding to be used as scholarships for students. Families can redirect roughly $1,500 (single) or $3,000 (jointly) and businesses are not limited. How it works, is that you pay from your bank account the $3,000 (or however much) to Vita's STO. Then the government sees that you've already paid your state income tax and will send you the money back like with your taxes. Contribute here: https://sto4kidz.org/vita
Your family can help easily fundraise to secure your seat sooner. Otherwise you may have to wait for scholarship and seats to open up.
Don’t worry. Our admissions team helps each new student transition, regardless of previous schooling.
We may review standardized test scores, but we primarily focus on interviews, prior academic records, and personal fit.
Vita is in process of being accredited. Vita uses accredited curriculum to ensure that your child is prepared for college and career. Most college look at various college exams for entrance now.
We offer need-based tuition assistance and merit scholarships! It is our intention to serve every learner who wants to learn with Vita.
You will need your student's birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency (such as driver's license, utilities bill, lease, etc.).
Yes, students cook using food we receive from our partnership with St. Mary's Food Bank. We stock our kitchen area with snacks and cookable food weekly. There isn't a set menu. Vita also has microwaves, etc. for students to heat up their food from home. Sometimes students will order food. It feels a lot like home here. We do encourage students to bring their own food for the first few days of school to be safe.
Vita does not currently have its own vehicle for transportation. We do, however, have a carpool network that has work for many of our families. Please contact us so we can help!
